For how long does the process of admission take?

The process of admission takes between 2 days to 2 weeks. This depends on the school as well as nature of the course applied. Some courses require decisions to be taken by the faculty. This means that the admission team would have to pass the student’s documents to the faculty for decision making thereby resulting too late response. Again where a student does not meet the specific requirement but probably has work experience, they would result in the admission team sending the student’s documents to the faculty for decision making. But where there is a straight forward application the admission team takes a quick decision.

Can tuition fees be paid on instalment basis?

Yes every school has its own policy. Some schools take between 30% – 50% down payment and balance can be paid gradually on arrival to school.

Are there further payments to be made by the student after first tuition fee payment?

This depends on the program. Some programs are one year or two years and the tuition fees are just once. This would be stated in the offer letter. But for undergraduates and Ph.D., their tuition fees are paid yearly. There are some 2 years courses too like the MSc Nursing with registration would require two years fees.

Can students send their transcripts dirtectly to the school.

Students can send directly to the school. But we advise against this because if the student’s ID number has not been generated it would be difficult to locate student once the transcript arrive.

However, we recomend that students should send their transcript to our email or using DHL to our UK postal office address

What is the cost implication of coming to study in the UK?

Tuition fees range from £11000 to £25000 depending on the schoolThe rule expects that if a student pays his tuition fees he would need to show that he or she has £9135 in their account for one month if their school is based outside London. But if their school is based inside London, then they would need to show that they have £11,385 for one month.Also, if the student pays just 50% of their tuition fees they would need to show that they have £9135 Plus the balance 50% tuition in their account for one month if their school is based outside London. And for those schools inside London, they would need to show that they have £11,385 Plus the balance 50% tuition for one month.

Another Illustration

Note I am using N500 exchange rate. This may be a bit higher or lower

Master tuition fee – (£12500) N6,250,000***

Expected to deposit (£5,000) N2,500,000***. (Balance can be paid at a later time when you are in the UK)

The UK Law expects that if a student pays his tuition fees he would need to show that he or she has £9135 funds for upkeep or maitenance in their account for one month if their school is based outside London.

But NOTE, if you only pay part of you fees , the UK law expects that you show that you have the balance fees – (£12,500-£5000= £7500) in your account plus the upkeep or maintenance funds -£9,135

This implies that you have funds for upkeep and remaining fees

(Balance fees £7500 + £9135= £16,135) and In Naira bank gives you N8,067,500

Now if you do not have that N8,067,500, we can recommend a bank that can lend you that money for one month at 10%

The bank would fix the funds at 10%. Of N8,067,500 = N806,750

So if you ask me how much total would I spend

Total to spend fees and bank interest (N2,500,000 fess + N806,750). N3,306,750

What does Immigration mean?

Many schools insist that students must complete an immigration history form. This form is usually gotten or received from the school. It is basically meant for the student who has previously studied in the UK or have visited the UK. It requires that we complete the date the students arrived in the UK, and when they left the UK as well as what they came to do in the UK. In such cases, I would advise you to discuss this with me on this. Sometimes students who have had previous visa refusals have always been refused by schools because of such disclosure. So let’s discuss this before it is sent to the school.

Can I work and study at the same time?

  • Yes the UK and most other countries offer 20 hours work permit to a student. However, when the student is on holiday, like summer or Christmas break they can work full time within this period. Also, for students who are married and come with their spouse, the partner can work full time.

What are the possibilities of obtaining a residential permit through coming abroad for study?

This means he gets a permanent job from an organization that has the license to grant a work permitB. The student moves to the Tier 1 entrepreneur or innovators visaC. Get married to a British Citizen

What are the funds needed for my family account?

  • United Kingdom

    The process is for the main applicant who is the student. As for the family, they would need to apply for a Tier 4 dependant visa and the law expects them to have the sum of £6120 for each family member in their account for one month

Can a student work while studying?

Yes, a student can work for 20 hours a week while studying. Also during the major holidays, you can as well work full time but permission would be obtained from your institution.

Who can sponsor or be my financial sponsor

Your financial sponsor can be your father or your mother. Also, you can get a sponsorship letter from a UKVI recognised financial sponsor.

What is the financial requirement for my study?

The rule expects that if you are studying outside London, you are supposed to maintain £9135 in your account for 28 days. And if you are studying inside London , you would need to maintain £11,385 for 28 days . Note by outside London we means your school is based outside the city of London and inside London, your school is located in the city of London.

If I pay 50% or some part of my fees, what would be the financial requirement for my visa?"

Lets use this as a sample;

If the student pays just 50% of their tuition fees they would need to show that they have £9135 Plus the balance 50% tuition in their account for one month if their school is based outside London. And for those schools inside London, they would need to show that they have £11,385 Plus the balance 50% tuition for one month.

So if your fees is £12,000

And you pay 100%, its means all you need for 28 days is;

School outside London – £9,135

Inside London – £11,385

However if you pay 50% out of the £11,000, it means you need to have;

Schools Outside London- £9,135 + £5,500 (50% fees) = £14,635

Schools Inside London – £11,385 + £5,500 (50% fees) = £16,885
